Air Transport Pilot License - Inside the Level D Simulator

Queensland, Sunshine Coast Airport based Flight Options Advanced Flight Training Centre is one of only a few flight training facilities in Australia providing pilots with the next step in commercial aviation at its world class facility which operates two Level D full motion simulators, the Cessna Citation Mustang and Beechcraft King Air B200/350i. The Advanced Flight Training facility is purpose built with the required training devices and qualified and experienced aviation specialists. Two in demand courses enabling pilots to undertake the transition to commercial aviation are Multi Crew Co-operation (MCC) and Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) Flight Test.

The MCC training course focuses on teaching candidates the fundamentals of operating as a crew in the multi-crew environment. It offers candidates the opportunity to practice and develop the skills necessary for leadership and support roles incorporating Pilot Flying (PF) and Pilot Monitoring (PM) roles during scenario training-based training exercises. MCC training is integral to obtaining an ATPL.

An ATPL allows candidates to conduct private and commercial operations and is mandatory for all pilots wanting to operate transport category aircraft as pilot in command. The ATPL program includes a preparation course prior to conducting the ATPL Flight Test. The preparation course includes exercises as both pilot flying and pilot mentoring.

Mr Phil Laffer, Flight Options Head of Flight Operations said:

“Flight Options is the premier flight training organisation offering the highest standards expected in today’s aviation sector. The expertise available through the Flight Options courses has generated strong interest in Australia and overseas.”

The Multi-Crew Co-opoeration (MCC) and Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) preparation course and flight test are conducted in either the Citation Mustang and King Air flight simulators and according to CASA Part 141 and 142 flight training approvals.
