The previously certified King Air BE350 (350i model) Level D full motion flight simulator has been dually certified by CASA and is now convertible to the King Air B200 configuration therefore increasing training opportunities on both aircraft.

The King Air simulator is installed alongside the Flight Options Citation Mustang Level D full motion flight simulator in a purpose-built Training Centre on the Sunshine Coast Airport (Qld). Flight Options purchased the ex-Singapore Airlines jet training facility to ensure that training capability was maintained and enhanced in the highly advanced facility for the long-term training of pilots in Australia.

The King Air simulator is provided in partnership with Ansett Aviation Training, the largest worldwide simulator training provider. The device is equipped with Rockwell Collins Pro Line Avionics, TRU RealCue motion system and advanced ADAS-X digital audio system to provide optimum motion, audio and display performance.

Ansett’s King Air simulator is used by Flight Options to service training contracts it holds with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Qld Section) and other local and international operators. Flight Options can now provide initial ratings and recurrent training on both the King Air B200 and KA350i, and also offers differences training and Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) training and testing.

Flight Options’ employs instructors who are highly qualified and knowledgeable, many with airline check and training experience. Training courses can be tailored to meet the requirements of individual operators.

The Simulator and Training Centre incorporates static training devices, multiple classrooms and briefing rooms, and has a dedicated learning centre for computer-based training. Being located on the soon to be redeveloped Sunshine Coast Airport, the Training Centre’s location is ideal for access to daily airline services to cities and airports around Australia. No longer is there a need for pilots to travel overseas for training thus minimising substantial travel costs and fatigue.
