Overview

Flight Options provides a course of preparation for the ATPL Flight Test. The training will focus on the competencies required of a pilot-in-command of a multi-crew aircraft operation. Depending on your level of experience, the course will also cover multi-crew operations, instrument rating skills, multi-engine aircraft competencies and general piloting abilities. Once the course is completed, Flight Options will conduct the ATPL Flight Test.

Upcoming Courses

Pilots without the relevant C510 Type Rating

Course Schedule

  • Ground School: 6 hours
  • Briefing / Debriefing: 15 hours
  • Simulator (FTD): 4 hours
  • Simulator (FFS): 18 hours
  • Total: 9 days

Course Overview

  • Pre-study on crew procedures (including quiz)
  • Short technical course
  • Introduce multi-crew operations
  • Consolidate multi-crew operations
  • Introduce basic abnormal procedures
  • ATPL Pre-Test
  • ATPL Flight Test

Pilots with a relevant C510 Type Rating

Course Overview

  • Briefing / Debriefing: 10.5 hours
  • Simulator (FTD): 4.0 hours
  • Simulator (FFS): 6.0 hours
  • Total: 4 days

Course Overview

  • Pre-study on crew procedures (including quiz)
  • Introduction to SOP’s
  • Air Transport Pilot Licence Pre-Test
  • Air Transport Pilot Licence Flight Test

Pilots who require a MCC Certificate

MCC Component

Course Overview

  • Ground School: 12 hours
  • Briefing / Debriefing: 5 hours
  • Simulator (FFS – off motion): 20 hours
  • Total: 7 days

Course Overview

Pre-study (equivalent to 3 days) with two competency-based tasks:

  • Essay analysing a multicrew aircraft accident
  • Course Quiz on crew procedures

ATPL Component

Course Schedule

  • Ground School: 6 hours
  • Briefing / Debriefing: 10.5 hours
  • Simulator: 8 hours
  • Total: 6 days

Course Overview

  • Short technical course
  • Introduce basic abnormal procedures
  • ATPL Pre-Test
  • ATPL Flight Test

Total for MCC & APTL: 13 days

Prerequisites

  • Australian CPL
  • Current Class 1 medical certificate
  • MCC Certificate or required multi-crew experience
  • Have successfully completed the ATPL theory exams
  • Have the required flying experience (as required by CASR 61.705)
  • Multi Engine (A) Instrument Rating

Flight Options can also provide concurrent training for the relevant Type or Class Rating and training for the issue of an MCC Certificate, if these are required.
