Cessna Citation Ultra C560

The Cessna Citation Ultra (Model C560) is a business jet built by Cessna. The heritage of the 550 has its beginnings as a stretched iteration of the Citation I (500), achieving FAA certification in 1978. The 550 II/SP is a single pilot version, the improved S/II first flew on February 14, 1984. The Citation Bravo (550) with upgraded new avionics and P&WC PW530A turbofan jet engines The heritage of the Citation Ultra has its beginnings as a Citation V, a stretched iteration of the Citation II (550), achieving certification in December 1988, with 774 delivered until 2011. The upgraded Citation Ultra was released in 1994 with 278 aircraft delivered until 1999.

The Citation Ultra has a range of 1,524 nm (2,822 km), speed of 427 kts (790 km/hr), maximum operating altitude of 45,000 ft, MTOW 16,300 lbs (7,393 kg) and is powered by two P&W Canada JT15D-5D turbofan jet engines.

The course provides the requisite training to achieve a Citation Ultra C560 Type Rating. Completion of this rating will satisfy the requirements CASA IPC, ME(A) IR renewal and recency requirements. This course provides pilots with the necessary knowledge and skills to operate either as single pilot or multi-crew, acquiring an in depth understanding of aircraft systems, flight planning, weight and balance, and performance for the C560.

Recurrent Training is designed for pilots that regularly fly the aircraft and are required to complete a recurrent training program. The objective of the recurrent training is to provide a structured program based on evidence-based training principles planning training elements that are regularly practiced.

This course has been designed IAW the requirements of CASA Instrument “Prescription of aircraft and ratings”. It covers the differences training required (DTR) for a range of variants of the C500/C550/C560 aircraft types. Upon completion of the Differences Course, students will have the necessary knowledge and skills to demonstrate that they are competent in the operation of the other aircraft type. Completion of the course will satisfy the requirements for an IPC and flight review.
